4.5 / 5 rating “Few can match the price and the ride puts the ‘fun’ in functional.

For the September 2024 edition of Cycling Plus magazine, senior technical editor Warren Rossiter was searching to find the best cargo E-bike on the market. He tested several cargo E-bikes, including the Momentum Pakyak E+.

Rossiter gave a solid review for the Pakyak E+, gifting the cargo E-bike a score of 4.5/5 and praising it for its unmatchable price and impressive spec.

Rossiter opens the review breaking down the spec of the Pakyak and all of its functionality. This includes a SyncDrive Pro motor with 80Nm of torque, a 500Wh battery, and a large lockable storage box that can hold another 500Wh battery (for £550 extra) boosting the E-bike range to 1000Wh. This electric bike also includes a 6a fast charger that can charge 60% in 1.5 hours and 100% within 3 hours.

The Pakyak also comes equipped with front & rear racks and mudguards. It’s also compatible with Thule Yepp style child seats, padded passenger seats, footrests and passenger bars, and can hold a max combined weight of 200kg.

Speaking of weight, the Pakyak runs large disc brakes which Rossiter claimed helped for stopping a weighty bike with ease.

Rossiter spoke highly of the 9-speed drivetrain and SyncDrive pro motor, claiming they offer ‘an ample spread of gears for pretty much any terrain’.

To support your riding, on the handlebar there is a RideControl display that shows battery levels and modes, which the BikeRadar editor found ‘easy to read’.

After comparing all the cargo E-bikes, the Momentum Pakyak came out on top. Rossiter writes “With its medium wheel size, it has some of the big wheeled, swift nature of the Cube, but also plenty of the load-hauling stability of smaller wheel sizes.”

Rossiter continues his praise for the Pakyak by writing “you’ll also enjoy great levels of standard equipment and a range of accessories to help tailor it to your needs.”
