Created in partnership with the Spanish Team Kern Pharma in 2023, Giant's Grassroots program gives aspiring young road racers a chance to realize their dreams of becoming a professional.
Year two of the program started with seven riders selected to attend an initial two-week training camp in Spain. The riders, chosen through a collaborative process with Giant sales companies around the world, came from a variety of nations including Taiwan, Hong Kong, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, the Netherlands and the United States.
Based on the riders’ performance and potential—as evaluated by the team’s coaches and trainers—three or four would go on to the next phase, a training camp with Kern Pharma's development squad, Team Finisher. The ultimate goal for all of the riders is a chance to earn a spot on Team Finisher for 2025, and then continue on to the pro peloton.
